    Wordle—daily Browser 3-min word puzzle

The baffling streak of fortunate first word selections continues. So this is where all my luck is spent! :D (Although I don't know how lucky I got today with the third line guess, wrote the first viable word that came to mind instantly, perhaps there would have been other options but I'm too...

Back to having a long thinking pause in the midst, but got lucky with the found & eliminated letters, could only come up with one plausible word for the third. Wordle 213 3/6 ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

    Wordle—daily Browser 3-min word puzzle

I usually take my sweet time mulling over the possibilities at some point, but today I was done in 6 seconds, got extraordinarily lucky with the first two guesses. Wordle 212 3/6 🟩⬜⬜⬜🟩 🟨⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I quote Groucho Marx on the club. :D

Which path to become a Game Developer?

This is very true indeed. :) Just a quick note regarding these: Marmoset Toolbag is (at least primarily) one of the many possible tool sets for 3D artists, it is not free and I am not a professional 3D artist so I have not tried it. Substance Designer & Painter as well as Bitmap2Material are...

Which path to become a Game Developer?

It really depends on what you are interested in. Which genre(s) of games? Which aspects of game creation? Which platforms? As a very general answer, some popular and free (at least to start with) game engines are: Unity (2D and 3D games, scripting mainly in C#, supports deployment to a wide...

    Wordle—daily Browser 3-min word puzzle

I want a special prize for always managing to start horribly. :D But I most definitely won't start using any optimized word lists, I prefer going on a whim lest it starts to feel like an algorithm building practice. Wordle 210 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

    Expeditions Rome Demo - Turn-based, party-based cRPG

I had the exact same experience, Expeditions: Conquistador was excellent, but in Expeditions: Vikings it felt like the developers had a completely different opinion than me on what had worked and almost every change felt like a downgrade. Thanks for the heads-up as well, hopefully Expeditions...

    Wordle—daily Browser 3-min word puzzle

My beginnings seem to always suck, and both yesterday and today had two equally likely possibilities in the end and both times chose the wrong one first. :D ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

PCG Article Stop boasting about the length of your game!

This is an excellent point, there are way too many RPGs that have "100+ hours of content" but the "content" is almost exclusively fetch quests and "go there and kill x of y" quests. That's nothing but lazy writing, and gets stale fast. I don't mind grinding in certain types of games, I even...

The currently playing and random game thoughts thread (Jan 9 to Jan 15)

Currently playing Sunless Sea. Gave it up a long while ago, dug it up to give it another go, and will soon give up again. Such exquisite writing, but the game mechanics are not on par. :( It plays like a Sisyphus simulator.

What are your favorite PC Puzzle games?

The best puzzle game I played last year was Agent A: A puzzle in disguise. Matters of taste, but at least to me it was thoroughly enjoyable: a lot of puzzles, just the right amount of challenge, and light-hearted humor as a cherry on the cake...

What's the most hours you've spent playing a single game?

OK, after this my 3759 hours in FM12 feels like rookie numbers. but to my defence I have 1300+ hours in FM10 and FM11 as well... :P
