What games are you currently revisiting

Once The Sims 2 legacy edition was released, I was like a sober man who fell face-first back into the bottle. I don't know why I find it so addictive.

    Steam Summer Sale 2025

The sale is live now, but their servers may be overwhelmed. I keep getting errors beyond the first page. Unfortunately the item I was most hoping to get only has a 25% discount, so I shall continue to wait....

What games in your wishlist have the worst reviews, and why did you wishlist it?

Ohhhh, I like the looks of this. Thanks!

What games in your wishlist have the worst reviews, and why did you wishlist it?

I don't have a huge wishlist (12 titles, some of which are DLC), but the two lowest are: Nebuchadnezzer. Added because I liked the Impressions city builders when I was younger, and this is inspired by them. However, I've never bought it because I know full well that I will play it a few...

How many of you just use your PC for gaming?

That's a strange thought to me. My computer is my school workhorse, video editor, word processor, music/media player....

What are/were your favorite Flash games?

Snowcraft, far and away. Essentially a "combat" game about two groups of boys firing snowballs at one another. There was another one that I don't know if it had an official name beyond "Helicopter" a helicopter is moving toward the right at a constant speed, and the player has to manuever...

What are your all time most played games at the end of 2024?

For 2024, it would've been either Red Dead Redemption II or The Sims 4.

What is your worst investment in gaming equipment?

I bought a used Xbox to play RDR1 after getting obsessed with RDR2. Not only did the cd tray crap out within a few weeks, Rockstar then re-released RDR1 on the PS4. At least I was't out much...$60 for the Xbox, $10 for the RDR1 disc.

February 2025 General Game Discussion Thread

Decided to give The Sims legacy editions a go, as I played the original from its release until the later 2000s after an upgrade made Sims 2 run perfectly for me. Reddit suggested that the steam editions are more stable than the origins editions. So far I'm really enjoying it: I remember most of...

February 2025 General Game Discussion Thread

Anybody picking up Civ 7 in early access? I'm not tempted given the lack of England, but am enjoying watching gameplay videos.

Do you enjoy exploration and why? What makes for good/bad exploration?

If it's worth my while. Exploring the world was my FAVORITE thing about starting RDR2 -- I'd gone all over the map before getting to chapter 3. If it's just a lot of repeating textures, though, then no.

December 2024 General Game Discussion Thread

Replaced my system after eight years after the motherboard or power supply went out (didn't do a lot of troubleshooting because I was planning on a replacement anyway), and picked up Cyberpunk 2077 during the autumn sale so I can finally play it. I avoided any discussion of the plot, etc, so...

What past game deserves a sequel that hasnt had one yet? (2024)

Based on the way Civ 7 is being developed, it's going to be Humankind II.

August 2024 PC Gaming General Discussion Thread

Finished playing my first year in Fields of Mistria. Quite impressive for an early-access title. It's the best of Stardew Valley made better, and the annoying elements removed.

What's a "big sale" to you?

Any sale that's enough to nudge me into buying, but that varies widely on the game itself. Like, if there's a game I'm unsure about, it would have to be substantial -- over 50%. On the other hand, for something like American Truck Simulator DLC, all I need is a nudge.
