I would simply gather a "houseload" of those always drinking bird-thingies that always go up and down, (alternatively, those waving cat-thingies would work) and use those as a never-ending source of energy. You see them always moving up and down non-stop unless some outside megaforce stops them...

I really miss the aesthetic of Risk Of Rain 1 but on the other hand, I mind the 3D.
