    Baldur's Gate III

Gameplay mechanics in a combat ---> Excellent, turn based combat system (I like RTwP too) , D&D 5E, seems to be deep and complex enough to be fun. Characters/Setting/Writing - Extremely Poor. Teenager material. Needs to be worked on.

    Baldur's Gate III

Nice D&D implementation, very detailed/deep combat system, good cutscenes, but Divinity 3 does not have a Baldurs Gate feeling though I am still optimistic.

Question What RPG Characters have you Dated/Had Relationships With?

Romances in crpgs were a grave mistake.

Question What makes Pathfinder so great?

    1) Tabletop roots: D&D/Pathfinder 1st Edition; 2) Huge possibilities in character creation/progression (spells/abilities etc); 3) Party of six characters (created or companions); 4) Tactical battles in RTwP or Turn Based systems (the latter with mod) - this is a great feature because most of...

    Future of the RPG genre

Pathfinder: wrath of the rigtheous Solasta: crown of the magister Realms Beyond Colony Ship: a post-earth role playing game Encased Wasteland 3 Baldur's Gate III (if not an action game) (...) I think the future is good. The bigger audience will still have the more streamlined and cinematic...

    Question Must Play RPGs

I will try to make a very short list covering the essential, must play CRPG's. But behold! Rpg is a genre that needs focus and carefulness. You simply can't play a rpg and another 3 games, i.e, because the chances are that you will lose focus and will tend to dump the game in the middle of the...

    Question Must Play RPGs

Show us your must play rpgs, Andy. ;) I gave some tips to play more in the "I dont have time to play rpgs anymore" thread, but basically we need to manage better our time if we want to engage in our hobby with more passion. It works for me, I have a difficult career to follow, but, OTOH, I...

    Question Must Play RPGs

Help, I can't finish RPGs anymore

Tips that work for me, and I already completed dozens of rpgs in the last 2 years (and I still have a very demanding carrer life): 1) Focus on your limited free time. When I am playing a huge epic saga, like the one in Pillars of Eternity, I need focus to play it. This means that, for at least...

Disco Elysium - The future of RPG gameplay?

I hope not, because the best thing in rpgs for me is the tactical combat system. I dont play rpgs for the story. Because you simply have an infinity of great books and movies out there to enjoy a great story. The rpgs I play are good because of the mechanics (Pathfinder Kingmaker, Divinity...

Question What RPG did you FINALLY find time to play?

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. As a Baldur's Gate enthusiast, I found out this true gem that, at least for me, surpassed the classics in every way, especially from the narrative and combat mechanics/character progression point of view. Being isometric/ tactical is a huge plus too for me. The...
