Ubisoft survey - possible direction they're thinking

If the cloud gaming model turned into a spotify subscription model, that might be interesting. I'd consider [yet another] tenner-a-month to have the choice of the Steam/Epic/Ubi/Google/Amazon/Whoever catalogue. I just wouldn't want to pay a tenner-a-month to all of them.

There's now a demo of Creeper world. It seems pretty good on first try.

Ubisoft survey - possible direction they're thinking

That was the conclusion I came to, that I'm not the target market for mobile gaming. Hopefully the PC market remains a worthwhile slice of the pie for years to come.

Question What game exceeded your expectations once you played it?

Doom 2016. I didn't think they could make something as good as that these days. The campaign is the closest I can remember to early Quake Deathmatch gaming.

Ubisoft survey - possible direction they're thinking

    Tower Defense Games

Creeper World 4 looks interesting: https://store.steampowered.com/app/848480/Creeper_World_4/ I haven't played any of the earlier ones, but I'll give this a go when it comes out. Defense Grid is still the best Tower Defense game I've played. Bloons6 I tried, but no. It looked and felt like a...

What's wrong with using the arrow keys?

I always uses E,S,D,F when possible. One shifted to the left of WASD. That I believe gives me the benefit of Q and W, along with R as reload. Plus, more number/f-keys seem in reach. It's frustrating when a game doesn't allow re-mapping or the re-mapping is simply painful.

    sci fi shooting games

Another recomendation would be Battlezone. Fighting in hover tanks on Venus definately qualifies as Sci-Fi. It's one of the finest games ever made. An unique mix of Quake [or any FPS], Command and Conquer, World of Tanks and The Settlers. One of the best control schemes to manage your units...

Your Favorite Point And Click Adventure Games

I'm also a fan of the Monkey Island series. They are atmospheric, clever, funny and charming in one. Modern I had fun with the Space Pilgrim series which I picked up for a few coins on Steam.

What Is The Best Weapon You've Ever Used In A Game?

The grappling hook, part of the 3waveCTF mod for Quake 1. It literally elevated the game into the third dimension.
