    Modular controllers are what you want. Unfortunately there's not a controller that is doing modularity to that degree right now. Those eSwap controllers are okay, but kinda meh. I don't recommend them. Framework controller would be cool. If only.

    I like having a few. GameCube, DualShock, Wii U Pro. Wired is just more reliable. For me, except where I have to be wired, or where it doesn't matter, I go wireless.

    Definitely a trial and error thing. Might have to mod a mouse or keyboard to suit your preferences. As Brian Boru said, going to a store and testing in person is a good idea. One thing I highly recommend is wired, or products that can be wired or wireless.
