I only skip cutscenes when there is "social pressure" e.g. you're in an MMO group and know everyone else is just trying to rush the dungeon or whatever asap. By choice I would soak up the atmosphere. Part of the reason I prefer soloing stuff in online games.

Have this problem too! I've played the start of all my favorite games to death. Have only finished/won only a select few. Have played A LOT of various versions of Civilization. Think only seen a run through on Civ 4.

I'm always disappointed by horse riding in games. Even the best example in any games I'm aware of go something like: point horsey in general direction and press X. Something where you control reins, legs, seat, would be epic. Should be quite possible to do a decent job with analogue controllers...

+1 for this! I've got a hugely overspec one (850W when my peak power draw is maybe 400W - never worked it out precisely). The fan never turns on. Really cool modular plug system too for a nice tidy case. It was expensive but I've never regretted the purchase.
